About two weeks ago my amazing daddy and i got the wonderful chance to go to a conference in fabulous San Francisco, California! Even though i was by myself most of the day everyday i was still able to enjoy san fran like anyone else would!
on sunday (july 12) i drove from st george to salt lake and then daddy and i proceeded to reno. spent the night there and woke up had breakfast at the buffet in circus circus and then continued to san francisco! it was probably the shortest drive i have done because i was asleep for 90% of it! we got there we decided to go do the site seeing stuff before we headed off to the hotel. when we went to get tickets for alcatraz they told us that the next avaliable tour would be that thursday at 3:30 pm so alcatraz was no longer an option! bummer! then we went and booked a tour thing around the harbor that took you to the golden gate bridge and then around alcartaz and back to the pier. while we waited for that to start we walked around pier 39. we got to see the sealions and then we went into a bunch of different stores and just window shopped pretty much!
after we walked around pier 39 we went on a little boat tour around the harbor. it was pretty fun but it was really cold and windy! got to go under the golden gate brigde and see the outside of alcatraz. i had a lot of fun doing it.
then after our boat tour we went to dinner at a restraunt called wipe out! the food was pretty good i do suggest it! and i think my dad would too!
then on tuesday i went shopping and the next day i rode the cable car!
it took me down to fishermans warf, so i walked around there for a bit and i went to the famous chocolate square and then because i didn't know the trolley cost anything i was only able to afford one way so i had to walk on the way back! now please keep in mind this was not a close walk. the hotel was 28 blocks away from fishermans warf. the first 6 blocks were up hill and it wasn't just a normalo uphill street.....they had what seemed like a 55-60% grade!! it was gross and very tiring!
on our last day we walked across the golden gate bridge! that was an amazing experience. the whole time dad was giving me random facts about the building of it and the upkeep they have to go through with it. it took us about an hour and a half to walk to 1.7 miles there and back! it was pretty foggy when we started but by the end you couldn't see much unless you were right next to it. it was also very cold!! but still very enjoyable!!
over all it was a good trip!
oh and on the way back i was driving for a little bit and this little black looking bird was flying and it flew a little too low and i hit it with the car! probably the saddest moment of my life!! but other than the bird dying it was a really good trip and i can't wait until the next one!!
